THC_772 Clear Meikle Bros. Vancouver BC Bottle
Early original vintage Meikle Bros. stoneware ginger beer bottle circa. 1900’s Vancouver, BC.
This early pop bottle may turn amethyst if left in sunny window. Fair condition cloudy clear appearance with some minor scratches. Bottle was recovered in BC, Canada in the early 1980’s by Tony Hardie.
MEIKLE BROS. Hutchinson soda bottle from VANCOUVER BC (British Columbia Canada). Bottle dates from about 1900. Has rounded base with level bottom. This type of bottle was used to bottle carbonated beverages, such as flavored soda water. This type of closure was patented in 1879, and after a few decades of use, fell from favor, mainly due to the difficulty of cleaning the bottle with the stopper pressed down partially blocking the opening. Has original stopper inside the bottle.
